About Me
Brion Sims-Johnson
The correct pronunciation of my name is “bree AWN” not “Brian.”

I was born in East Saint Louis, IL, but I was raised in St. Louis, MO. When I was 12 years old, my older brother and I moved to Texas, which I now consider to be my home. I am a police officer, motivational speaker, and a mentor to the youth.
I currently assist my police department with the Juvenile Impact Program, and I travel to different schools across the state to give inspirational speeches to students. I use my own background story to connect with them and motivate them to succeed in life. I also use my life story to travel to police departments across the state and give inspirational speeches to police officers. My vision is to one day travel across the United States and use my own story to build a connection with people from all over the nation and inspire them to live above the challenges in life.

I’ve had a heck of a journey, which allowed me to transition from living in poverty to having a successful life as a police officer.
I feel that the best way to truly make a connection is to lower your defenses and make yourself vulnerable. I understand that everyone may not want to do that, so I stepped up to the plate and made myself the first person. I share my past in hopes of creating a better future for the next generations.
The best way to learn more about me and my journey in life is to read my book Reasons Beyond Myself, which gives an in depth look into my backstory, who I am now and what I hope to accomplish.
